You might want to first determine if you really have a starter issue there are some tests in this video that might help and even though the battery is ‘new’ don’t trust it as I’ve seen ‘new’ bad batteries before so test it anyway.

That said I don’t think you have to remove the intake as I think you will have much better access from under the engine or by going through the side under the intake if you have to replace that starter.
