If it’s 4wd you don’t want to have it in 4wd on dry pavement, this is the most likely cause of the ‘wheel hop’ you had. As for the noise it sounds like an input shaft bearing problem especially if it goes away when you push the clutch in. For this you will need to remove and disassemble the transmission to replace the bearing or take it somewhere to have it replaced.
