Many manufacturers have gone to that design in an effort to keep down maintenance cost. To be honest in all the years I’ve been a mechanic I have yet to see a ‘clogged’ fuel filter cause a problem, that’s not to say it can’t happen it’s just not something that I’ve seen much of. That said I think the manufacturers are also aware of this and eliminated replaceable fuel filters to keep not only the maintenance cost down but also the production cost.
