You can verify that the fans come on simply by turing on the AC, when you do this both fans should run while the compressor clutch is engauged. I think you would be better to leave the scanner disconnected when you run the engine to get the fans to turn on because of temp because the computer will act a little differently with the DLC connected. If your not having issue with overheat I wouldn’t worry about the fans however as they are probably working fine, it will take much longer for them to come on in colder weather BTW.
