Plugs at 235.5 miles since tune-up (gap plugs, new air filter, adjust valve clearances, set timing).
Idle status:
- initial cold startup: okay, maybe a little rough and low (around 600-700) for the first 10 seconds, one 5 second rev to 1500 and idle is stable at 1200
- from cold to 1/3 of way to normal temp: idles at about 1200 (which is good)
- from 1/3 to normal temp: have to watch the idle (engine can stall if the ECU doesn’t catch the idle falling off too quickly)
- the engine warms quickly to normal temp (1 mile, approx 3 minutes from my house to freeway onramp; normal for my car)
- after 5 or 6 minutes at normal temp: idle is very stable at 500-600 RPM (a little rumbly and low due to bistmoto mild performance cam)
Overall the engine is running very well.
I might be looking at a fast idle solenoid problem based on info above.
(I’ll check and clean its wiring connection today.)
