05 Cobalt radio theft deterrent.

I got my hands on two Cobalts and I’ll be making one runner out of the two. Both have the same OE stereo decks with CD players. The donor car cosmetically has the better deck, but it’s already displaying “lock” which means it’s likely not the original deck for the car. The owner’s manual reads that the car’s VIN is stored by the radio as a theft deterrent and, as such, won’t work.

I’m guessing my options fall between a relearn or a reflash. What can I do to make the other stereo work in the next car?
