Cracked differential has to be replaced as soon as possible. That small crack can get worse due to bad terrain vibration or something hitting while being driven. Unless your vehicle can disengage front hubs and drive in RWD, it is not safe to drive.

Oh dang… thank you so much for your help… idk if it makes a difference but this crack is pretty big qtr inch gap that almost wraps around the case… my truck drove home fine is it possible the gears are still okay inside? And if so is there anything I could do like seal the crack so it holds oil? Or anything at all that I could do with out removing the differential? Thanks again for your help I appreciate the input…

Gears would require a visual inspection to confirm the condition. With a crack that big I believe there is no other option than replacement. If it independent front axle another thing you can do is remove the drive shaft and prop shaft then you can keep driving it as nothing will be rotating the front differential. Also, do something to cover the cracks.
