2001 jeep Cherokee sport

      I just rebuilt my l6 for my jeep we put a stroker cam and bored it 30 over. Had the springs in the head redone to match the cam and due to my old head being cracked I purchased a new one. The jeep ran great for about 180 miles then all of a sudden it started throwing up a multiple misfire code(p0300), cylinders 3,4,6 (p0303), (p0304), and (p0306) misfire codes and ignition coils b and c circut malfunction (p0352) and (p0353). I did the proper cam break in and even used break in oil. I don’t understand why its doing this now and I don’t know if the timing is off or what. I seriously need some help!

        What’s nice about codes like P0352 & P0353 is that it’s telling you the PCM knows there’s a problem within the coil circuitry. It could be the coil itself. Given you pulled the engine out and rebuilt it, I’d also keep an open mind to having misrouted the harness in a fashion that allowed some wires to get rubbed through when you put it back together. A wiring diagram is attached if you can use it.

          Thanks but I fixed it I had to line up the cmp pulse ring and set the motor tdc and reinstall eventho I do not have a drb scan tool I think I got it set a 0° towards the back of engin with a lot of tedious work. I was unaware that the cmp sensor did not control ignition timing but it does Control fuel timing but you must learn as you go right? My jeep is running perfectly now and with better throttle response and better power.

            ok now the jeep is running fine until you run it hard. i put the pedal to floor on the interstate and it was doing fine until it hit 4500 rpms then it stopped accelerating and was misfiring on cylinder three. shut it off and waited about 30 seconds before re starting it and had no misfire. This jeep used to run flat out with no problems im starting to think there is something wrong between the stroker cam and the computer. I replaced the coil when i bought the jeep about two years ago also in that time i have replaced all 6 injectors. cylinder 3 i have replaced twice. any input would be great.

              Update replaced the cam positioning sensor with a new oem one. The jeep no longer miss fires at high revs it will climb until 4500 rpms then starts flashing the check engine light. it stops flashing when you slow down. No check engine light after it stops flashing checked for codes there were none. in freeze frame it says my cal load is 95.1% I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I no longer have any ideas as to what the problem is.
