I got in my truck today and tried to put it in gear and it won’t come out of park. The gear selector is very loose when I pull it down and nothing happens:( It’s an automatic trans, any ideas on where to start? I’m thinking something to do with the linkage cable…I don’t want to pay a mechanic to fix something I can handle so any info will be greatly appreciated 🙂

Sounds like a problem with the shift interlock system.
Do your brake lights work when you press the brake pedal?
Check fuse 22 It’s a 20amp fuse in the engine compartment fuse block.
Good luck and keep us posted.Oop’s I just read your post again and it sounds like the shift lever is moving correct?
Have someone move the shift lever and see if the linkage on the transmission is moving.
