would this puller tool do the job at taking off the power steering pulley http://www.harborfreight.com/pulley-rem … 40749.html or is there a honda tool for it or does anyone know a different way?

          Hi mfdfirefighter46,

It appears that the pulley is splined onto the shaft of the power steering pump. The nut at the end of the shaft should just unscrew off. Then, I would assume you will need a “puller” tool to remove the pulley. Removal of the power steering pump is straight forward. The Chilton guide on-line has a great picture with step-by-step instructions. Good luck and keep us posted.

Someone on the forum posted a link to online Chilton manuals. Just place “Chilton” in the search box and you will find the link. This link was working about a week ago, not sure if it is still functioning. Also AutoZone.com offers repair info. for your car. Just create an account and then select area of interest related to your repair.

ok so i changed the pump today you dont need a pulley puller to get it off all you need to do is get the nut off and it will slide right off no problem just wanted to keep everyone up to date very easy to change out the pump tight spaces for sure but other than that easy.

Yep, all you need to do is remove the nut and the pulley comes right off. I don’t often see problems with Honda pumps unless something other than Honda Power steering fluid was used. I HIGHLY recommend you use Honda PS fluid in that system, it really doesn’t like other fluids.
