Started the car as usual, drove down the road and the check engine light came on.

          Welcome to the forums!

I would first start by checking for Vacuum leaks. Here is a vide Eric made on doing that procedure without a smoke machine –

The MAP sensor can be easily tested with a DVOM and a hand vacuum pump. Again do a visual inspection of the wiring going to the MAP.

As for the IACV, not many people have luck cleaning those so usually they are just replaced.

Good luck and keep us posted!

wow, that car owes you nothing at that many miles.
            So the car runs fine?
The only code you have right now is the p1129?
Off subject I know but, what kinda oil do you use in the car?
How many miles have you personally put on it?
Good luck and please keep us all posted.

Just because you got a code for a MAP sensor doesn’t mean that it’s bad in fact Honda MAP sensors hardly ever have a problem. The code is for circuit voltage that is high meaning that there could be a wiring or connection issue, in fact I would say this is more likely. The other codes you mention have nothing to do with the code and I don’t believe they are related. If it were me I would look at the readings for the MAP sensor KOEO (Key On Engine Off) with a scan tool and compare them to the BARO sensor readings, these sensors are virtually the same and should have identical or readings that are very close to one another when you just turn the key on, if not there is an issue somewhere and since you’ve already replaced the sensor perhaps check the wiring and connectors.

                Quoted From risacher:

Started the car as usual, drove down the road and the check engine light came on. Had a code pulled at Autozone, it was P1129. Purchased a map sensor, replaced it. Cleared the code and let car relearn idle per instructions. Car drove for 11 miles, then poof, check engine light again. Had the code pulled, P1129. Took car to mechanic, he cleaned the tb and got the car back. Question, could the IAC be bad or perhaps the cat? Had a code p0420 about a month ago. Could the backpressure of a plugged or soon to be plugged cat cause the P1129? Any thoughts?

Update: The car had a vacumn leak in the housing behind the intake manifold. Also, the timing was off a tad. New code popped, p0497. Any ideas?

p0497 -check the hoses for cracks, splits on the evap/purge system. also inspect the canister for holes. also check
                  any vent lines for obstructions.C8-)

Thanks for the update on the original code. As for the evap code the best you can do is what has been suggested as most times evap diagnosis requires specialized equipment but you might look/sniff around for any leaks in the system, other than that you’re going to need to track down the service procedure for that code which may require the use of a smoke machine.
