I bought my daughter a used 2007 Saturn Vue. A year later it blew a head gasket. I had it repaired, but afterward it consumes about a quart every 1000 miles. I see no leaks. Nor do I see the telltale blue-white smoke from the exhaust. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lets start with eliminating the possibilities:
    Do a compression test.
    Do a leak down test.
These will tell you if everything is sealed up correctly
Then check all the fluids to see if oil is making its way someplace it shouldn’t be.

If all those check out good and as you claim there is no oil burning, you have a leak.
Most likely when there is oil pressure in the engine.
