2007 Suburban 4WD with LC9 5.3 motor VinCode #3 with 98k on the clock.
Recently we popped a generic P0336 code for crankshaft position sensor. The truck at times will turn over slow then start. What feels like 2 slow revolutions where normally it starts right up. This morning the truck left my wife stranded at the day care. We called roadside service and they jumped the it so she could bring it back home. When she tried to start it it would just click. Then the windows and lights slowly stopped working. After it was jumped we brought it to local auto shop store to have battery read:

RIPPLE 28mVI am confused. Could the crankshaft position sensor cause this. I have a new AC Delco replacement just in case.
I am deploying this week and do not want to leave my wife with a malfunctioning vehicle, as its the only one that will fit my four kids and her with relative safety.

-Make sure the terminal connections at the battery are clean and snug.

From what you describe, it sounds like a sketchy electrical connection, a weak battery or a dying starter are your most likely suspects.
It seems a little confusing that your battery tests good but it starts with a boost. Before I read your whole post I was thinking the battery is toast. If it’s more than 3 or 4 years old depending on your climate I would replace it. As far as a crank sensor code many things could be the cause but an engine that doesn’t crank over properly can be one of them.
Do your door locks ever cycle while driving? Silly question I know but, that’s a typical sign of a bad negative battery cable. There’s an updated cable for it. Also, a good cleaning of the mega fuse and applying some dielectric grease wouldn’t be a bad idea.
After looking at the numbers you provided, your battery voltage looks too low in comparison to the charging system output voltage. That, plus your description of what’s happening are classic indicators of a dying battery. The best way to check the condition of your battery is through an actual load test:
It doesn’t look like they did a load test at the parts house, or if they did, it wasn’t done properly.
I would go ahead and install the new battery. That should clear everything up. If you have those “emergency battery cable terminals” installed, I would replace the battery cables as well. Those things are a menace IMO.
