    Hey all,

    My power steering developed a leak, I tracked down the joint where it’s leaking, but I’m not completely sure how to go about fixing it…

    Here is a picture of the leaking joint:

    My confusion is: what kind of joint is this? It almost looks like shrink-wrap, I’m afraid to peel it back to see in the event that would cause a catastrophic leak with no fix planned out. Do you think there should be a hose clamp (or two?) here?

    The only information I can find is this diagram. It tells me this is a legit connection point (between pieces 8 and 9), so I assume it’s not really shrink-wrap, but has no information on how those pieces are attached to each other.

    By the look of the seal/joint you may need to replace the two hoses. Call
    Ford parts dept. see what they say or show.
