I have an idle problem. Last week I clean the K&N filter and since then the idle is high. The code has PO507 has appeared. I took the throttel body off and cleaned it, replaced the gasket at the same time. I cleared the the code with a scanner and by disconnecting the battery. Did the relearn procedure and still have the same problem. When I drive it for the most part its fine when I come to a stop and the cvar idles it rev’s to 2500 comes down then 2000 then levels off at 1000 rpm. When I do drive it and I push in the clutch it rev’s high. Any ideas anyone.

I’m not really having luck finding a picture for you. There should be a couple connectors going to your throttle body. One will be the the throttle position sensor, and connected directly to one side of the throttle plate itself. There should also be a cylinder looking object of some type in that general area that will have another connector going to it. It may have multiple wires to it if there is an IACV sensor included with the solenoid. I’m not sure about Hondas. But it should be pretty easy to spot if you have a basic idea what you are looking for. While the car is running, tap on the side of it GENTLY with say, the handle of a screwdriver, NOT A HAMMER. If this effects your idle, you have a winner.

I’m actually starting to wonder if that car is a drive-by-wire system that doesn’t use an IACV, but instead feathers the throttle plate to allow air in… You’ll have to get with Eric on this one, because I can’t find anything for ya. Sorry man.

I don’t recommend buying a MAF sensor just to ‘try’, perhaps try looking for vacuum leaks as I show in this video, just because you replaced the gasket doesn’t’ mean there isn’t a vacuum leak. Don’t throw parts at it it just gets expensive and is not a valid form of diagnosis. Also make sure you hooked everything up correctly, it’s possible that you either don’t have something hooked up right or not completely plugged in, the #1 cause of a problem after you get done working on something is YOU so look over everything you did. In addition I can’t stress enough how air leaks AFTER the MAF sensor will cause all kinds of problems on a MAF system so look carefully for those, try moving the intake hose around to see if the idle changes if it does look for the leak.

I’ve wiggled all the hose’s and nothing. I use both propane bottle and acty and no difference in RPM. I moved it all around intake, throttle body, all hose’s in area, around the MAF, everywhere and nothing. I’m lost. i will recheck all my connections. HELP!!!!

Did you ever try reinstalling the original filter and cleaning the MAF? Did the problems start right after you cleaned/oiled your KnN filter?

The problem started right after I cleaned the filter and wiped down the throttle body. ( I originally wiped the throttle body down (inside of it)) It’s been like this ever since. I did find out that I dont have a IAC valve. the ivtec has drive by wire. No I’m really lost. Any body think I could have damaged the throttle body when I removed and cleaned it? I did move the the butterfly back and forth to clean it. Any ideas?

I honestly think it’s more likely that you over-oiled the filter, and the oil went straight to you MAF. Put the stock filter back on, and use some MAF sensor cleaner, because even if you clean the sensor, the oil is going to cover it right back up. I’m betting your problem goes away.

try spraying right at where the tb meets the intake with the carb spray. see if the idle changes. it might be possible
that the gasket got pinched or not seated correctly.also spray the air snorkel boots. C8-)

You could also try to find an idle relearn to see if that will help with your issue.

Did I see you mention that was drive by wire? If so you may have damaged or reset the throttle body if that’s the case you may need to take it to the dealer to have it reset. I’m not familiar with an idle relearn procedure for that set up outside of using a Honda scan tool but I haven’t had to deal with it all that much.

^+1 on possibility of oil from an oiled air filter fouling the MAF. It has happened with filters like K&N on a MAF equipped.

Also, for the record those filters are SUPPOSED to get REALLY filled up with crud before they need to be cleaned. Over-cleaning is an OCD, over-maintenance thing. K&N’s site even shows pictures of what is dirty and not because of this(too frequent re-oiling).

I mean think about it. They pass more air than other filters anyway, it would take a LOT MORE crud to get them to be restrictive to a point of causing air starvation thus performance issues.

MAF and TB reset with a dbw and should be g2g, hopefully. With what has been said, these need to be covered anyway. I’d start first by getting rid of the oil air filter, cleaning the MAF with correct tools(no power to the MAF while cleaning is done please) and let dry for an hour or two, then reconnect everything and start it up. If still having problems do the throttle body relearn/reset however possible. Dealer visit might be necessary unless the directions for this can be shared by some previous posters.
