2013 Ford Escape Se 1.6L p1299 code.

I have a p1299 code on my 13 Escape Se 1.6L turbo, there were 2 common fixes one was the coolant temp sensor motocraft p/n DY 1194 which I did and the other was the Cylinder head temp sensor Motorcraft p/n 6G004, this one I cannot find on my 1.6L and found that there is no sensor in the exact position on the head. Does anyone know why some 1.6L have this sensor and why some don’t have it. Very puzzling. The code went away when I change the first sensor but came back 1 week later. Now I’m stumped . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
