2013 Honda Pilot back up camera

I am purchasing a used 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L which has a non functioning back up camera. The dealer said no fix. Its my own problem. I dont mind because I am not used to using one anyway but I would like to know what needs to be done. Is it the camera itself or some other problem between camera and display. I get just a blank screen with the yellow lines. They told me it would cost me $600 to fix it. I would rather fix it myself. Is there a common problem with this cam system or not. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love your videos. I tell my son when he has a problem check Eric the car guy first.
