Im assuming you have a cable clutch. Im still new to clutch noises but it sounds like youre cable might be rubbing so it may need an adjustment? If its grabbing or rubbing it would explain the nothiness. The only other thing I could think that would be doing that would be the throwout bearing. I could be off so feel free to correct me if Im wrong
It’s actually a hydraulic system. My first guess would be the shift fork, but then someone else mentioned the pressure plate. If it’s the pressure plate, I won’t tackle that until it really needs a new clutch, but the shift fork I can probably deal with.
Well what intrigues me is youre engine is off when youre engaging and disengaging the clutch. To me yes it might be the shift fork or your master or slave cylinder squeking. I dont think its anything inside the clutch as the internal components arnt spinning or making noise because the flywheel isnt turning. If its anything internal Id say its the throwout bearing. Does the car do anything new when its running?
Car runs extremely well and doesn’t make any new and different noises while driving, idling, or shifting, but still makes the squeak when I use the clutch.
What happened to me was I needed to lube somewhere on the clutch pedal. I had this on a 91 civic btw.
What I did was put my hand on different parts to see if I can feel the vibrations…I eventually found it way up on the clutch. Then I just shot some WD 40 to be sure and then wiped it off and greased it with some silicone spray. Im sure there are better methods but so far its working.
Thanks for all the help guys! When the weather dries out here I’ll go out and check for leaks around all the hydraulics. I’ll also recored another video with the camera close to the clutch fork area.
If it ends up being the ball on the slave cylinder, do I need to remove the clutch line and then bleed the whole system or can I just leave the line attached and move the slave around?
just unbolt the slave, no need to bleed the whole system. Just make sure when you put the slave on to push towards the pass side some to line up the bolts, also start both bolts before you get one tight.
No need to bleed the system just remove the slave and lubricate the ball and I’m sure your problem will go away, I’ve seen/heard that issue many times in the past.
