2006 Honda Odyssey – A/C worked fine until today and just stopped. The compressor will not engage. Fuses and relays checked out fine. I have a refrigerant recharge kit that indicates the pressure should be 35-45. The directions say if the pressure is in the red zone (above 65 psi) with the compressor ON to take it in for service.

The pressure I measured was 100 psi with the compressor OFF. I’m not sure what this means? Any ideas for next steps?

    Thanks.

You state the compressor isn’t spinning when you turn on the AC which mean the system pressure basically equalizes.
The first issue is that the compressor is not engaging.
You need to sort that out first.

Richard – thanks. Does not seem to be fuses or relays. What else may cause the compressor to not engage?

    Faulty compressor
    Compressor clutch
    Compressor magnets
    Magnet air gap
    Pressure sensor
    Lack of command signal
    System pressure

Thank you. Clearly beyond my skill level – time for a trip to the shop.
