Air leak when I tow

Hi I have a 2004 F-150 Lariat 5.4L…When I tow my boat I can hear what seem to me an air leak coming from or near the engine, when I’m going up hills when my truck work a little harder. I was diagnosed with a crack right manifold. I replaced it and $1700.00 later still the same problem. I checked the full lenght of my exhaust but I couldn’t find anything.
