I had to change the inner tie rod bushings and outer tie rods so I elected to go with all new parts. I have never done this on this type of car. I tried to measure everything to be as close to alignment but I know that’s difficult, especially since the new parts are different lengths. My question is is there a maximum thread for the tie rod and adjuster sleeve. I google this and found something saying no more than 20mm of visible thread (from sleeve and or outer tie rod) should be visible ….. I’m confused
I will take it to get aligned when I’m done (tires are bad now anyway).
I’m just not sure if I need to screw the adjuster into the inner tie rod a bit more and screw the outer tie rod out some. I will attach pics thanks if you can help, or direct me to a link. Also the adjuster bolt torque would be helpful.
PS I think i found the torque for the sleeve clamp….28ft-ib
