Bought a new battery for my 2015 Honda CR-V (EX-L, 13K mi, 2.4L Earth Dreams engine) BEFORE the old one died. So I want to swap them out, but remember seeing a video here years ago about knowing some codes before you do that to reset computers, system and/or radio.

Is this still the case? Do I need some codes after the battery swap?

IF so and I don’t have the codes can I put the lines in parallel during the swap so that there is no interruption of power & thus no need for codes.

Thanks for any insight or help!

If you can maintain 12V to the vehicle during the swap you should have no issue(s)

Thank you! Had the whole thing set up using jumper cables and finally alligator clips to maintain a charge on the system. It was working well (radio working), until I bumped an alligator clip and lost the connection.

BUT when I started the car, it gave me a warning about the battery replacement and the info screen told me to press and hold the power button for two seconds. Followed those instructions and the radio was reset – no need for a code.

    Thanks again for the encouragement.

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
