crown victoria gives out power while accelerating

Hey Eric. Hope all is well. Your youtube channel is awesome and very educating. I own a 2005 ford crown victoria base version. It has a lot of miles on it. Now the problem with my car is, when i accelerate and right before it is about to shift gear from 1 to 2, the car feels like “it gives out”.. meaning it feels like the acceleration all of sudden stops for a split second even with my foot on the gas. And gives a little shake so i feel the loss of power for that split second. This problem doesn’t always occur, it happens here and there. The car runs fine on the highway and when the gear is above 2. The transmission is fine according a transmission expert. But a few other mechanics around my area and one of them told me the fuel injectors are bad and they need to be replaced. And another guy told me that i need to get a very good fuel system cleaner and that will do the job. Now i did not want to spend 300 dollars to get my injectors replaced so i tried many different “complete fuel system cleaners” but my issue is still persistent. If you can kindly help me out sir i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello, my name is not eric but i can help.

first, any codes if your engine light is on? many things can cause a missfire and codes can narrow things down.

could be spark plugs, could be fuel injectors, could be a lot of things, and what i have experienced pretty commonly with ford engines when there is a misfire the vehicle seems to shake pretty bad, had a miss on a truck i was working on, had a miss on a church van that was a ford, and both of them when they missed man would that truck hesitate and shake.

Some engine codes may tell us what cylinder you are missing on, or any components that may be intermittently or completely failing that could cause a misfire, so before we start replacing parts and tearing things down its a good idea to do a through diagnosis.

and if fuel injectors are a confurmed issue there are fuel cleaning systems out there.

Oh yea i forgot to mention that there are no check engine light on. I also did a complete tune up and the problem is still on.

then it is likely your injectors, sometimes they get gummed up, and there spray patterns get messed up, the gasoline they spray does not get properly atomized or not enough of it is sprayed, so that cylinder goes lean and misses, or because the gasoline is not properly atomized it cannot burn completely enough and that cylinder gets down on power and misses…

you can take the injectors out and clean them one buy one, or you can use the injector cleaning kit, i hear how some people have luck with seafoam but other methods are flat out more effective, worst case cinario you are probably going to have to get new injectors but that is highly unlikely, but try to clean the old ones first.
