93 Ford Escort usually dies when I round a corner to the right! (not a gentle curve, a real corner). If I do so very slowly, usually does not happen. I thought maybe the battery was sliding over and shorting out against something, but this is not the case. It starts up again without a problem. It’s a 93 so does not have OBD. Any ideas?

Does it feel like fuel starvation? I would suspect the fuel pickup inside the fuel tank. If your battery is loose get it strapped.

Thanks Rajul. Hmm, I did replace the fuel pump inside the fuel tank recently. The fuel pickup you speak of is essentially part of the fuel pump–how could turning to the right effect that?

If the fuel pump doesn’t pick up when the fuel level is low there is a chance for the engine to starve from fuel when you make a sharp turn depending on where the fuel pump is located. I once worked on a Toyota FJ40 which had the same issue.
