    I’m swapping the engine in my 1979 Opel Kadett C 1.2l to a fuel injected 2.2l, and I am currently brainstorming how I’m going to do the fuel system.
    The new engine came with injectors, fuel rail and a pressure regulator, so the only thing I really need to do is run a return line back to the tank and add a pump.

    All the other people I’ve seen do this swap have removed the tank from the car and welded in a bung for the extra fuel line, but I came to think of a simpler solution;
    Why not just put a ”T” fitting on the low pressure side of the fuel pump and run the return directly into the pump? Would there be any reason for not doing this?
    Any thoughts and inputs would be appreciated.
