So I had to replace my 2001 OE F23A engine (70K miles) due to a cracked block (which “never” happens). The replacement F23A engine will not seal the oil filter without REALLY cranking it down tight. Always used Honda OE filters and never had this problem on the original engine. I suspect the oil filter stud somehow got bent in its former life or the stud is not screwed into the block far enough? Does anyone know the threading size on the stud? I’m thinking a pair of jam nuts is the only way to remove the stud but I’m in uncharted waters here. I don’t want to take any risk in damaging the block threading as this is my daily driver and it would not be a good day if I screw something up. Any other ideas that could cause the filter to leak at the seal would be greatly appreciated. TIA
