Hi guys, both of my cars(mitsubishi mirage 2000 1.8,auto,140k; nissan altima 2008 2.5s, 70k) blows very humidy air through the vents every time on its cold starts. Mrage is overdue for coolant change, last time it was three years ago. Planning change it or flush it soon. But nissan’s coolant should be fine, it has nice bright green coolant and not overdue.
I am not sure about ac charge for those cars though i am sure mirage havent been charged for 4 years.

Where should I start looking into? Is it bad coolant or ac charge needed to refilled?

I don’t want to smell and feel that humidity every morning on my face.
If you experienced same thing please share your solution.

Thanks in advance and have fun

check that you are on max cooling and recirculate not fresh air mode.
If these conditions are met then ac charge needs to be checked. see
        if this link helps further.

Thanks for your quick response. I will check it when i off to work.
It is bit tricky to check ac charge right? What if I buy one of those can of ac charger and try to charge it?

I have never used one of those recharge kits. I’m not a fan of mixing
            refrigerants. I only use R134A

The coolant in the system has nothing to do with the air coming out of the HVAC vents. It’s a sealed system and should not come into the passenger compartment, just the air that flows around it.

The humidity may be the result of the climate you live in, or there may be a water leak somewhere. It could also be a coolant leak. You can use this video to determine that.

As for the AC, I would recommend you take it to a professional for that. AC work is not really for the DIYer.
