I’ve been having some noise from my transmission for a while. Just recently it’s been getting worse. I believe it to be the input shaft bearing on my manual trans but I don’t have the money right now to replace or repair it. It’s a 2006 mustang 4.0l Does anyone know if this is a common issue on those model mustang? Or if there’s any quick fix to hold over untill I can get it replaced. I have already done the clutch and throw out bearing replacement recently. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

    Stating the obvious …
Unfortunately if it is a bad bearing.
    Only fix would be R&R
Attempting any quick fix would most likely result in dropping the transmission.

A top-quality fluid like Amsoil Severe Gear or Redline can sometimes work wonders on failing syncros, I’ve seen a miracle or two. I wouldn’t be optimistic about an input shaft bearing, but it might be worth a shot.
