My truck was stolen and now it will start but not stay running.

2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6L truck. It was stolen and recovered on the side of the road the next day about 30 minutes away. The driver side door lock cylinder lock was punched out and the ignition was busted apart. It looks like a screwdriver was jammed in, to try to start it. I think that the pass lock system might have disabled the vehicle. I had it towed back and it will only start now when I charge the battery and it dies shortly after I start it and then won’t start at all. The truck is low mileage, was running perfectly and the battery is 2 months old. Help?!!

First,
you’ll need to repair at least the ignition if you haven’t already.
Next would be to hookup a scan tool and see if there are any codes.

I do not believe so, the owners manual should explain it function and operation.
