I need you guys to shoot holes in my plan. 2003 Nissan Frontier 163K 2.4L manual.
It popped a P0456 as a pending code (evap very small leak). If it should become an active code (and I don’t have a smoke machine) I’m thinking about this as a way to rule out hoses, o rings and the gas cap.
Plug off the output of the purge valve and plug off the vent from the vent valve
Put about 10-20PSI in through the service port with a bicycle pump
Spray things down with soapy water to see if there is any leakageAnyone see an issue with this plan? Could I put more pressure in the evap system? From my research most are saying it is a gas cap of the seal between the vent valve and the canister. Just want to make sure and not fire the parts cannon at the issue.Worst case is I need to take it in for a smoke test.
Thanks.
