I own a 1988 mustang gt and have been having some ticking noise. Im hoping its just from loose rockers because work has never really been done on this stock engine. How do I go about it? The heads are stock and they are rail rockers. Do they just get torqued down to a specific ft lbs one by one while the piston is TDC?

You could have a bad lifter or a chipped/broken pushrod. If you ran low on oil one of the lifters could have
        colapsed.

Mines not even close to being as bad as that. I think I’m worried about nothing, but the more and more I read the more and more I feel that I have to adjust stuff and find where noises are coming from. I’m going to try to upload a video of it.

I would make sure you oil pressure is within specs first.
Could be dirty lifters, I’ve seen people add one quart of ATF to there oil for a week and they nose went away.
Change the oil after a week if you try this though.
