I have to swap a used Honda J series engine into a 2007 Odyssey. The replacement engine is from another van that had 125,000 miles. Before installing the engine in the van, I’m going to do various maintenance items: timing belt/water pump, valve adjustment, check valve cover gaskets, etc.

With the engine out of the car, would you replace any of the cam, crank, rear main seals as well?

      Thanks.

Having the engine out in the open will make it extremely easy to service those seals and the parts cost is minimal.
        I would.

Yes absolutely. Replace all the seals, gaskets, hoses, belts, etc. while the engine is out of the car.

Thanks for the response. I know you are right, I was just apprehensive of not installing a seal correctly or doing the Hondabond sealing wrong to cause a leak.
