    I had a freon leak so the shop refilled it for testing and said they don’t see any leaks even with the dye in the system. I get this sound after turning off the engine and it sounds like it is coming directly from the compressor. Only 55,000 miles on compressor.

    I could not edit the message. I meant to say this happened before and after the freon was recharged.

    I did more research. It is the compressor. It lets out pressure after engine is off and the a/c clutch spins at least once while the pressure is let out.

    Feel free to delete this post. The compressor is about to fail. I was hoping it was something simple.
