Rubber hose break lines are suseptable to deterioration from age & can cause brake failure from breaking or collapsing. Rubber hoses also come apart internally, contaminating the fluid with small rubber particles. Though maintenance is usually overlooked, you know what to look for when deciding to replace brake lines before they break.the common sign of break line collapse is the vehicle pulling to the side of the collapse, thus frozen caliper & the wheel will be too hot to touch. the exterior of the hose looks normal, but the interior of the hose physically collapses preventing the calliper to retract. Allowing the break fluid to leak out by cracking open the hose connection to the calliper will cause the calliper to retract to confirm the problem. I’m sure all you professional mechanics are well aware of the problem ,but for a layman, this issue could be confusing.this is just one issue of break safety,&” stay dirty,if you have to” but, wash-up before dinner!
