Not sure what you are working on, the biggest problem here is rust build up between the speed sensor mount and speed sensor causing the speed sensor gap to go out of specs causing your concern. Unfortunetly, in my experience, the rust bores it’s way down the speed sensor hole and binds the sensor causing it to break during removal. You can try removing the retaining bolt and spraying rust penetrant at it while gently twisting the sensor. Best bet is to replace it and remove the corrosion.
