Thanks for the feedback guys. Quite hard to locate it when the engine is cold, but the sound is audible when engine is warm. I just got my car checked into a local garage today. Turns out that the exhaust manifold had a crack and was leaking exhaust gas.

A question though, how does a carbie car regulate the fuel mixture when the car is in the “close loop”? i get how the car does this with a fuel injectors but not too sure with a carb.
