I just finished up a headgasket replacement and am now getting a P0341 code indicating my timing is out of phase. (’03 element)
I was meticulous about marking the chain and realigning everything etc. so I’m wondering if maybe the issue could be the chain tensioner.
I’ve noticed on youtube that some folks simple pull the pin and rotate the engine several times….while others pull the pin and actually ‘pry’ the guide over to allow another click or two from the tensioner.
is it possible that i have a click or two more slack than before in my tensioner or that i must have gotten the cams/chain a tooth or two off – despite my best efforts.
the engine runs fine, but wants to idle high. it will kick down if i hit the accelerator but then climbs back up
