11 Ford Flex RR caliper remove park cable

Hi,

I have a 2011 Ford Flex and am replacing the RR caliper and need to remove the parking cable. I cannot figure this out all googles say adjust the parking break equalizer, but this car does not have one. It just has a cable system. Anybody know how to remove this cable and have instructions? I have chocked the brake cable where the equalizer should be, but still cannot remove the cable see pics.

judging by the picks what if you just applied the parking brake and then put a screw driver or something to keep the hook from sliding back then release the parking brake.

I choked it there as well and it still did not work. I need to release the tension some how.

I unbolt the caliper remove the pads and push the lever back it is easy because you don’t have the rotor or pads interfering with it.
