my finacee has a 99 bug it needs a power window regulator which she can get about 25 bucks it also needs a power window motor (she thinks) how much will it cost to have this work done labor included?

Also where is the Airbag fuse on this car?

depends on where you have it fixed and how much time it takes. my local former chevy dealer quoted me 250.00 per window if I supplied the parts.

would it be cheaper/easier to just convert the window to manual? the Window regulator is the same for manual or electic window

conversion is usually harder and more expensive than replacement. my caprice was manual windows (old cop car) and i wanted power. it was easier to swap the entire door than rip all the guts out and put them in again.

power windows fail manual windows dont so it seems pointless to convert manual to power although to do it in my daewoo wouldnt be that hard all the wiring is there

manual windows fail too. the rears were permanently disabled and couldnt be rolled down ever. and the cranks were hard to reach. also when i put the power seats in, there was no way to have manual windows anymore.

Labor time is around 2.5, so it depends on the shop. I think it can range from 35-90 an hour. You can also find the fuse box that should have the SRS fuse on the driver’s side at the end of the dash. Open the door and look at the flat side of the dash. You’ll see a panel that you can pull off and there should be a chart for all the fuses. They usually have a yellow boot on them, but I’d be careful with it lol. Why do you want to pull it?

sounds about right. the dealer here charges 100.00 an hour.

There is no SRS fuse. The fuse box panel is labeled with symbols and not a single one is the Air Bag symbol. Y do i want to pull it? simple reasons

90s airbags are deadly, everyone i know who has been in a accident in which air bags deployed were in worse physical shape becase of it. And it is just added expence to fix a car airbags are $1500 per side being the Beetle has airbags in the doors who know how much THOSE would be

Try searching for a wiring diagram of the srs system. You’ll be able to see the number of the fuse, amperage, and what fuse box it would be in. I’ll try to see if I can find one.

I do know how to unplug the door airbags. Doing so will trip the Air Bag light no biggie question is will unplugging the door airbags and trigger the light disable ALL air bags?
