Ok so this is what has been going on for a while now. When i go to turn on the battery or start the van, the instrument cluster does not activate or light up at all. To get it to work i have to press the odometer button and then it turns on. With that said my turn signal indicators on the dash do not work. But my turn signals outside the vehicle do work when i hit the left or right turn signal. Also there is no clicking sound either when i activate the turn signals. All other lights also work out side the vehicle. Thx in advance for the help .P.s, i did do a instrument cluster self test and all functions came on except the turn signals. Code that came up is 400.1, which if i am not mistaken is a battery terminal disconnect. it also appears that some lights in the cluster are dead.

Quite possible you may have a cracked solder joint on the instrument cluster PCB.
You would need to remove the cluster from the dash board and give it a good visual inspection on all solder joints

I would check the cluster and bulbs before anything else. Like the other person said, they could go bad sometimes for solder joints.

Look at the underhood fuse box cover to find the IOD (ignition-off current draw) fuse.
The purpose of it was to let you stop all current drain when storing the car. When the fuse blows or not making good contact, you’ll get these problems.
Replace the fuse before tearing into the dash to change bulbs or examine the cluster solder joints..

Also try to check for the instrument cluster fuse also if these fuses pop it could cause a lot of things on instrument cluster to not work right could also cause power going to cluster to be pushed Some were else because the electricity wants to find the path of least resistance check any fuse that has to do with dome lights or I instrument cluster most dome lights and cluster guage are all hooked into the security features of the van like whrn you open door
