Hey Folks, 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible (Old Saab 9-3 platform here, not the fancier 9-3SS stuff). Anyhow, I was able to take all the stuff off and out to remove the old dirty cabin air filter. Except now I’m stuck trying to put the shroud thing back in place. This shroud isn’t mentioned anywhere is Saab’s WIS (who even wrote the WIS.. Very vague directions on almost everything, not specific, except for tightening torques) and now I can’t get the shroud in, an therefore can’t get the main cover back in place.
The shroud part number is 4867289, and is item 14 in the attached diagram.
I also made a video. Sorry for the poor lighting and yes I was really frustrated, so if I seem a bit short, I was.
I originally followed this nifty guide: http://saabworld.net/f71/changing-ca…og9-3-a-24809/ But it never mentions anything about the shroud. I wonder if the NG900 didn’t have this shroud. (The guide was made using a NG900)

you shouldn’t have to torque anything down on that Saab to replace the cabin air filter. I haven’t owned a Saab in 5 years now but I do remember they had the CAFs in that same location.
