      hey all known issue ive run into (theres a tsb on it). mitsubushi esclipse have an interesting condition where the blower motor resistor goes out and the fan will blow on all speed but a.c will not engaged unless on 1.use a mitsubushi part only…had a bad experience with an aftermarket

        Here’s another Mitsubishi A/C problem.

        Mitsubishi A/C compressor clutches have a shim that adjusts the air gap. As the clutch wears the air gap increases until where the clutch no longer engages. Some people have had good luck with just removing the shim. There is also a shim kit available from Mitsubishi containing three or four thicknesses of shims. These are just little washers.

        Eventually, on high mileage cars, shimming no longer works and the clutch must be replaced. The clutch and the coil can both be replaced with the compressor on the engine although, depending on the model, this may require removing the front bumper.
