i just got a new truck and the battery light is on i checked the voltage at the battery and it is getting 14.4 volts and when i plug in my scan tool it says i am only getting 12.8 volts and i dont know how to the wiring is for this truck and how it gets the reading of voltage

you can find factory service manual online at ebay for about $10 in CD format and will include wiring schematics.
