Have had an SRS light on for a couple months now. Been trying to diagnose it myself but not many DIY scanners will read SRS modules for my year of car. Apparently it is a ford unit.
Any suggestions out there for how to assess this? I don’t wanna just start swapping parts out. Car has over 200k miles on it, so things are bound to break. I have been wondering about the clockspring but no other functions are disabled on the steering wheel.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

SRS is for the air bag computer. So the sensor that feed the machine might be in trouble even if the sensor wire are good. You can check air bag sensor loose connection, but is pretty a pain in the neck considering you need the bumper clips to e replace when you inspect them. On aliexpress.com you can find cheap plastic clip for you car and a good Diagnostic computer that read SRS code and will give you the right defective sensor.
