my dad changed the fuel filter on his truck. it start 4 or 5 times then waited a while and didnt start anymore. then he changed the fuel pressure regulator. he pulled the fuel pump out to check the screen and it was clean. any suggestions for why it still isnt starting? before he changed the pressure regulator the psi was 44. but he hasnt checked it since.

I believe you need 50 psi to start that engine try spraying starter
fluid down the intake to see if it starts. if it does then its fuel.

rice400, I see where you’re going with checking for spark, but he has to check to make sure he has fuel pressure. Spark is useless unless there is fuel.

When the vehicle does not start, you have to check to see if your missing spark or fuel. Is the CEL on?
