      Hi all,

I have been working on a ford fiesta 1.4 UK spec car this morning after it failed the emissions test. Ran the car with the front wheels in the air and the drag in the gearbox spun the two front wheels. The abs light came on as a result. I suspect as the rear wheels were not turning but the front two were it triggered the light to come on. Whilst I was plugged in anyway looking for other codes and checking the switching of the oxygen sensors after changing them as per eric’s recent video refreshed and cannot find any codes. So all in all I managed to fix the emissions (the voltages are now switching nicely)but caused another issue. As I can’t drive the car until it passes the emissions retest on Monday I wanted to know after driving a few miles should the abs light turn itself back off again?

        Hey Matt,
I have run into that with my Chevy truck. It happens when I get stuck in snow or mud, and start rocking the truck back and forth. The wheels spin, and I get an abs light. It always goes back out and never sets a code. Back when the truck was new, I asked a friend who was the service manager at the dealer about it. He said it was normal. He couldn’t explain why it happened, but said it had something to do with the truck being a manual shift.
I bet your light goes right back out.

          matt,
dose your scan too do abs codes? if not then it shouldn’t read them, from what i have seen its mostly the really good scan tools that do abs codes, and if it dose make sure its currently in that mode when its plugged in

I think you’re spot on with that. It’s quite common to set an ABS or TCS code in that situation. Thanks for the update. Keep us posted if things change and thank you for using the ETCG form.
