I bought an IR 2135TiMax a month or so ago and could not understand their maintenance schedule. I couldn’t even figure out what grease to use in the grease fitting because it mentions both types of IR grease. (For composite and metallic housings) My friend got me some synthetic stuff from the Snap On guy but I don’t know if I should use it in my IR gun. I’ve heard these impacts last a really long time when maintained properly. Can someone tell me how they maintain their IR air tools, specifically the 2135 line please?

Just use impact tool oil. A couple of drops down the air nozzle each day and you’ll be fine. A better solution is to hook up an inline oil lubricator to your compressor so that you get a constant mist of oil going into your air tools. Add a filter/water separator to it and your impact tool will last a very long time. You can get air tool oil on Amazon or at Sears or wherever. It’s cheap and like I said, you only need a couple drops a day so it takes a while to go through even a small bottle.

I bought a 5 gallon hitachi air compressor I think the oil pan it had inside it might of been what your talking about however I have been dropping oil in all my tools before use any ways and this thing has made my life in the garage A LOT easier i can now cut things and it doesn’t take all day granted it was a good workout but man after a while my arms would really hurt a hacksaw just doesn’t cut it. So getting this air compressor is fun and the best tool investment I have ever made so far. I can now cut sheet metal with ease with my air tool cutter and do body work. tires come off in no time, just stick it on the lug nuts and pull the trigger on my impact gun and tire comes off with ease.
