I did some searches. some forums say cable operated.
others say electric actuators? either way your blend doors
are not switching. if its cable operated. than I believe you
must pull the radio to access the cables. if electric heres
a link to try. follow the steps.

Thanks for the reply but I know that the vent control is electric the only cables I have are the hot and cold and the fresh and recycled air controls. The link you gave me didn’t help I have looked at that page about 5 times now. But if you have any other advise I’m up to try it.

The Stratus is a distant relative of the Mitsubishi Galant, so this video from our good friend Briansmobile1 might help.

Briansmobile1 is awesome and that’s a great video to get to know the inside of the dash which may come in useful however I don’t know how much crossover there is between the 2 models. That said you need information and I’m afraid I don’t have too much for you but what you need to know is where the mode door motor(s) are, once you find out where those are you then need to know if they are getting a signal from the head unit. Since you just replaced the head unit perhaps we can assume it’s good or not really a suspect, it could still be the wiring or a connector somewhere. The information you seek should be found in a service manual somewhere and will probably lists tests to perform in your situation to determine which component(s) are at fault. Before you do that however it’s probably not a bad idea to check ALL the fuses both inside the passenger compartment and in the engine compartment, it could be as simple as a blow fuse somewhere and we don’t want to go through a bunch of trouble if all you have to do is replace a fuse.

I have checked all fuses that work in that area or anything that might even come in contact with anything around it. I went a little bit over board. I have searched through 2 different haynes manuals one that is specified for the dodge stratus and one that is for the stratus, avenger, and sebring. But neither one tells me anything about inside the dash.

I tried to watch the video from Briansmobile1 but it has an error can anyone post the site address.

Does anyone know if the is a relay for the mode door motor

Haynes and Chilton are lacking in areas like this in my opinion, you really need to see if you can get your hands on a FSM as that would have the information you’re looking for, here’s a video I did on the topic.
