Bilingual videos

Greetings Eric,
One thing that’s come to my attention recently as well as in the news is promoting bilingualism, and I wanted to ask you if you had ever considered making any bilingual videos? Obviously you would have to find somebody who is bilingual or maybe you can include a dubbed audio in another language and/or subtitles. Since you already have a lot of viewers from all over the world it’s pretty common sense that the majority of them live in or are from countries where English is a second language. Granted I’m sure most of your viewers do speak and understand English pretty well, but still I think it’s a good idea to be able to have that translation provided whenever necessary. Maybe you could do an ETCG1 video on this topic at some point and ask people to share their opinions on it, and if enough people are on board with the idea maybe you can find somebody (another mechanic or DIYer) that is bilingual and can do this or see if you can figure out a way to implement dubbed audio or subtitles. Maybe you might consider starting with Spanish since that seems to be a very popular foreign language and is now considered to be the second international language. I speak absolute fluent Spanish myself, maybe you’ve seen me comment in Spanish to some of the viewers on YouTube. Unfortunately I’m all the way out in CT otherwise I might offer to help you out with this. So let me know what you think of this and I look forward to hearing your response. Stay Dirty!

I actually considered and looked into this 4 years ago. The logistics are the issue. However, I’ve always tried to make my videos so that the language was irrelevant. If you watch them with the sound off you’ll see what I mean. I knew from the beginning that the people watching my videos may not speak English and as a result I tried to convey as much information as I could visually.

Outside of that I have plans in motion that will put my videos out in a variety of languages in other parts of the world. This is not through YouTube BTW.
