      This is not really a repair video or how-to but a situation of what if.
      I heard squealing noises when I was braking but I could see sufficient pad thickness from outside. I found a steel ball embedded in the pads.

        looks like most likely your wheel barring lost a steel barring ball and it ended up caught where you found it … you can see the path it took until it got embedded into the brake pad
